And finally... So we are now at the end of the tour. We hope that you have enjoyed your visit. Maybe we have been successful and have inspired you to reflect on a few things. On the one hand, about the quality of life that we enjoy today and the prosperity which allows us the time for the pleasurable things in life. On the other hand, about the meaning of life, a topic which continu- es to fascinate us. It is highly unlikely that the farmers who lived here over the years con- cerned themselves with such questions because the pressure they were permanently under to simply survive did not allow this. The often asked question about who was or is happier is difficult to ans- wer. We will leave you to contemplate this alone. You have seen many examples of how people lived in the “good old days” and so can now maybe reassess this notion and draw your own conclusions. “One cannot lengthen one’s life or widen it but you can deepen it”. We hope to see you again in the future. In the meantime, the curators of the Farmhouse Museum Hinterobernau would like to say goodbye, Tyrolean style, with a “Pfiat Di God” - God bless you. 38
